Slabtown District Convention - A Church Comedy Play
October 20, 2019, 7:00 pm
Fairview's Music and Fine Art's Drama Ministry will present Slabtown District Convention - A Church Comedy Play, on Sunday evening, October 20.

This play is based on the first Women’s Convention through the National Baptist Convention in 1908 and written by Nannie Helen Burroughs. Ms. Burroughs was instrumental in convincing the NBC to include women in the convention. In this comedy, you will experience the comedy and sincerity of these women during the first year of its existence in the National Baptist Convention (NBC).

The cast will be composed of several churches:  Fairview, Prospect, New Hope, Tabitha, Galilee (Shawnee, OK) and The Place of Faith (Net Church).

If you've never attended one of Fairview's productions, you don't want to miss this one!   Come, bring your family, sit back and watch, The Slabtown District Convention in session!

Sister Melva Franklin is Director of Fairview's Drama Ministry and Rev. James Reed, III, is Music and Fine Arts Ministry Director.
