CYYA M-L “Are You About That Life” Conference

Fairview's fourth "Are You About That Life" Children, Youth, Young Adult and Mid-Lifers Spiritual Growth and Development Conference will be held August 17, 18 and 19.  The theme for the Conference is "Victory with Jesus," I Corinthians 15:57.
 
This Conference is designed to reshape personal lives of all the particular groups, age birth to 60, according to Biblical patterns.  It will give a basic pattern of equipping the saints, personal Christian growth, doctrinal integrity and the ultimate goal of building the church.
 
Each group will be engaged in concurrent sessions and will include facilitators and activities that will concentrate on the two aspects of personality development:  the natural, human personality and the Christian personality.  Areas of growth and development that the Conference will address are:  1) Physical, 2) Intellect, 3) Social, 4) Emotional, and 5) Spiritual.
 
There is NO Cost for the Conference and it is open to the public.  Sessions designed for the targeted age groups will be held on Thursday and Friday nights from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.   Friday night's agenda includes a Community Worship Service, with Rev. Reginald Bachus as the preacher.  The service will begin at 8:45 p.m.   Members of the Community, regardless of age, are invited to be a part of that service. 

On Saturday, at 6:00 p.m., the children and youth will attend the Community Service being held at 5th Street Missionary Baptist Church, commemorating the 59th Anniversary of the Sit-in Civil Rights Demonstrations that were held in Oklahoma City, which were led by the late Clara Luper.

Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m., the young adults will sponsor "Expressions," a neo-gospel event that allows for any free-form way of expressing glory and honor to our Lord!  There will be worship through song, dance, spoken word, mime, and instruments.

  • Children:  Sister Delores Watley and Kim Watley and Children Ministry workers
  • Youth:  Rev. Gary and Sister Jessica Russell, Greater Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, OKC  
  • Young Adults:  Rev. Reginald "Reggie" Bachus, Associate Pastor, Abyssinia Baptist Church, New York, NY
  • Mid-Lifers:  Rev. Timothy Jones and Sister Johnneese Walter, Fairview Baptist Church
A tentative schedule of each group’s conference focus will be posted as available.  Additional agenda information may be added as it is formalized and finalized.
