FBC Women's Conference 2017

The Women’s Ministry of Fairview Missionary Baptist Church will hold Women’s Conference 2017 on Saturday, October 28, and Sunday, October 29, at the church.  The theme is "Encouraging Women from the Word of God to Victorious Christian Living,” Colossians 2:1-7; Ephesians 6:10-11.  

Conference registration for Fairview women is $25 and there is no registration cost for guests.  The registration donation includes lunch and conference materials.

Saturday's Agenda:

 8:30 a.m. - Registration in Vestibule of Main Building
 9:00 a.m. - Conference Begins
12 noon -  Luncheon
          
The featured speaker for Saturday's session is Sister Taressa Gaines of Fairview Missionary Baptist Church.   Sister Taressa has attended Fairview her entire life.  She currently serves as Director of Fairview's Discipleship Ministry and is active in other Ministries of the Church.  At the age of 17, Taressa enlisted in the Oklahoma National Guard, and is currently a Major in the armed forces.   She is employed at Community Health Centers of Oklahoma, which provides medical and dental care to the patrons of Oklahoma.  She is currently enrolled at Southern Nazarene University to further her education.  Taressa is the middle child to Nodie Gaines and has one son, Roosevelt Williams IV.   Sister Gaines is grateful to have an opportunity to serve the Lord.

Breast cancer survivors and senior women (ages 70 and over) will be honored during the Conference.  Women are asked to wear shades of pink.  

The Conference will end on Sunday with the attendees sharing in Morning Worship.  Sister Regina West, First Lady at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Oklahoma City, will be 10 a.m. Worship Speaker.   
Sister West is a native of Oklahoma City.  She is active in various Ministries at Emmanuel, serving as Sunday School Teacher, Women’s Bible Study Teacher, and a member of the Discipleship Ministry, the United Women Mission Ministry, and the Adult Choir.  Additionally, she is Chaplain of the Baptist Ministers Wives and Widows Club, Inc.  She is involved in the District, State and National level of the National Missionary Baptist Convention of America, Inc.   Sister West is First Vice President of the Ministers Wives and Widows Auxiliary of the National Missionary Baptist Convention of America, Inc. 

Regina is a member of the ETA PHI BETA Sorority, Inc.  She retired from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) with over 26 years of service in Supply Chain Management.

The Conference is open to men and women of all ages.  The church nursery may be open on Saturday on a needs basis.  Those needing childcare are asked to email info@fairviewokc.com prior to the Conference to reserve a slot.

Fairview is located on in the Northeast quadrant of Oklahoma City on Northeast 7th Street.  From I-35, Exit N. E. 10th Street.  From I-40, Exit Eastern Avenue.

The major intersection is N. E. 7th Street and N. Martin Luther King Blvd (formerly Eastern Avenue).  Those on Martin Luther King Blvd should turn West on N. E. 7th Street.  The church campus is located approximately two blocks West of M. L. King Blvd between Rev. J.A. Reed Jr. Street and N. Bath.
Parking Details:
HANDICAP PARKING: Handicap Parking is available on the South side of the main sanctuary. Passengers may be unloaded between the main sanctuary and the Donald Burns Fellowship Hall (Rev S S Fairly Drive). If no handicap parking spaces are available and you need assistance parking your vehicle, feel free to drive up in the load/unload zone and request assistance from the Hospitality Ministry. PUBLIC PARKING: Public Parking is located East and South of the main sanctuary and West of the Donald Burns Fellowship Hall. Street parking is discouraged, unless necessary due to unavailability of parking spaces in the parking lot. PLEASE DO NOT BLOCK DRIVEWAYS OF THE LOCAL RESIDENTS. RESTRICTED PARKING AREAS: The marked parking spaces North of the main sanctuary are designated Staff Parking. Please do not park in any designated areas unless authorized by security. PLEASE NOTE: Vehicles left unattended in the Fire/Emergency Vehicle or other No Parking zones may be towed.
