19th Annual Friends Day at Fairview

By M. Patterson |  May 25, 2016

“If a man wants friends, he must first show himself friendly.”  Pastor John A. Reed, Jr. and the Fairview Baptist Church are inviting the community to join with them on Sunday, May 29, as they celebrate their 19th Annual Friends Day.   The theme for the occasion is “Loving God Supremely,” Luke 14:26.

The occasion, which is evangelistic in nature, is a day set aside to celebrate friendships.  It involves the entire membership engaged in inviting friends, especially those that are unsaved and unchurched, to share in worship on this day.  Rev. Cleo McGlory, Evangelism Minister, is heading the campaign.

The day includes breakfast at 8:00 a.m., Church School at 8:30 a.m. and Morning Worship at 10:00 a.m.  Rev. Dr. Clemmie L. Bachus and the Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Kansas City, Kansas, will be special guests for the 10:00 a.m. Worship Period.  Rev. Bachus will bring the Friend’s Day message.

A native of Mississippi, Rev. Bachus moved to Kansas in 1971.  He has served on several boards and committees in the local and national arena.  He currently serves as a Board Member at Large for the Western Region of the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc., of which Pastor John Reed is Region Vice President.  He is the grandfather to Rev. Reggie Bachus, a past revival evangelist at Fairview.  As a man of faith, he solidly keeps God at the helm of his life.  Pastor Bachus preaches and teaches with enthusiasm and prays with fervor for blessings and healing.

The Fairview Family extends an invitation to its friends throughout the Oklahoma City community to attend and experience the joy of Christ.  The church is located at 1700 N. E. 7th Street in Oklahoma City.  For additional information go to www.fairviewokc.com or call the church at 405-232-1621.  Transportation is available by calling or texting 405-471-9494.
