Fairview Baptist Church Celebrates 107 Years

By M. Patterson |  November 19, 2016

Fairview Missionary Baptist Church will observe its 107th Church Anniversary and Homecoming on Sunday, December 4.  The theme for the occasion is “Looking Backwards and Forward,” II Peter 1:1-9.

The day will begin with Sunday School at 8:30 a.m.  At 10:00 a.m., the Fairview family and the Tabitha Baptist Church family will come together for joint worship.  Tabitha Pastor J. L. Mitchell, a product of Fairview, will bring the message and Tabitha's choir will sing.

“This year, we’re putting special emphasis on our 8:30 a.m. Sunday School attendance,” stated Senior Pastor J. A. Reed, Jr.  “Each leader will lead out, challenging their Ministry members to follow them by being in a Sunday School Bible Study Group and continue through the Morning Worship Period.”  Pastor Reed continued, “God has truly blessed our church to have near 20 members that are 85 years of age and over, two of whom have reached 100 plus years of age.  We will be recognizing these faithful stewards during the worship period.”

The day will end with a Homecoming fellowship dinner immediately following the services.  All members and guests are encouraged to share in the dinner.

Dr. Reed and Anniversary Chairperson Ron Coffey are urging all members, active and inactive, former members and the community to be a part of the day’s celebration.
