Homecoming at Fairview

By M. Patterson, Director; FBC Communications & PR Ministry |  November 19, 2018

Fairview Missionary Baptist Church will observe its 109th Church Anniversary and Homecoming on Sunday, December 2.  The theme for the occasion is “The Church’s Thankfulness,” Colossians 3:12-17.

The day will begin with Sunday School at 8:30 a.m.  At 10:00 a.m., the Fairview family and the Tabitha Baptist Church family will come together for joint worship.    Tabitha Pastor J. L. Mitchell, a product of Fairview, will bring the message and Tabitha's choir will sing.   This annual church fellowship dates back to the churches’ former pastors, Rev. S. S. Fairly of Fairview and Rev. J. M. Albritton of Tabitha.

Fairview members that are 85 years of age and older and those that have been members for 50 years or more will be recognized during the service.

The day will end with a Homecoming fellowship dinner immediately following morning worship.  All members and guests are encouraged to share in the dinner.

Fairview Pastor John A. Reed, Jr. and the Homecoming Committee are urging all members, active and inactive, former members and friends of Fairview to be a part of the day’s celebration.   Deacon Ron Coffey is Homecoming Chairman and Sister Jo Reed serves as his assistant.

Fairview is located at 1700 N. E. 7th Street in Oklahoma City.  For more information, call the church at 405-232-1621, email fairviewokc@aol.com or visit the church website at www.fairviewokc.com.  Those needing transportation should call 405-471-9494.
