January Prayer Focus at Fairview Church

By M. Patterson |  January 5, 2017

Rev. John A. Reed, Jr., Senior Pastor at Fairview Missionary Baptist Church of Oklahoma City, has designated the month of January 2017 as Prayer Focus Month for his congregation.

“I am motivating and encouraging our church membership in the year of 2017 to respond to the challenges of life with prayer, to pray without ceasing, and to pray with great expectations,” stated Pastor Reed.  “All study and proclamation for the month of January will be on prayer,” he continued.
Two annual events are included.  The Annual Super Prayer Meeting will be on Wednesday night, January 4, beginning at 7:00 p.m.   The evening will include praise and worship, a special period of prayer and a sermon.  Rev. Orlando Black and the Greater Shiloh Baptist Church Family will join with Fairview on that night.  Pastor Black will be preaching.   The theme for the Super Prayer Meeting is “United in Prayer,” Acts 1:14.

A Prayer Seminar will be held on Saturday morning, January 7, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.  The theme is “Prayer - More Than Just a Conversation,” Ephesians 6:18.  The session will include emphasis on prayer and a message by Rev. Harvey Wallace, Pastor of Mt. Rose Baptist Church in Oklahoma City.

During the month of January, Wednesday night Bible Study and Sunday School will be from the topic, “Some Things Jesus Taught About Prayer,” Luke 11:1-13.

All events are open to the public and there is no cost for participation.  “I invite the community to share with us during the month in our study for I believe and know that It Happens After Prayer,” declared Pastor Reed.
