Welcome!  We have a list of events that are on-going and these are the dates to keep in mind.  All Fairview members are encouraged to participate in the  activities.  The community is invited to share with the Fairview Family in Sunday’s worship experience. July 6, Central Baptist, Chandler

          We will worship with the Central Baptist Church, Chandler, Sunday, July 6, 3:30 p.m., for the Anniversary Service of Pastor James E. Reed, Sr.  Pastor Reed will bring the message and the JR Inspirational Choir, Usher and Nurse Ministries will accompany him.

         

 July 14—17, EZD Congress of Christian Education

          The East Zion District Congress will be held July 14—17, with the Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Oklahoma City.  Rev. A. Glenn Woodberry is host Pastor. 

          Anyone interested in attending classes should contact Bro. Ron Coffey, Fairview Sunday School Director.

 

July 12, OBSW Prayer Retreat

          The Oklahoma Baptist State Women’s Prayer Retreat will be held at Camp Burge, Arcadia Oklahoma, on Saturday, July 12, from 8:30 a.m.—12 noon.  Fairview is encouraged to support the Prayer Retreat.

          In the event of inclement weather, the Retreat will be held at Fairview. 

 

July 19, DOC Training

          DOC training will be held on Saturday, July 19.  Those interested in working with the Prison Ministry should plan to attend.

 

July 19, EZD Women Fellowship

          The Women’s Ministry of the East Zion District will have a Fellowship Meeting at St. Jude Baptist Church on Saturday, July 19, at 9:00am.

 

July 20, Annual Scholarship Day

          Sunday, July 20, is Scholarship Day at Fairview.  Each member that will is asked to make a contribution to the scholarship fund.  This fund is used to provide monetary gifts to Fairview's college students. 

 

July 7—11, Vacation Bible School

          Vacation Bible School will be held at Fairview the week of July 7—11.  Children and youth classes will be from 6:00—8:00 pm; The adult class will be from 7:8p.m.  Classes are scheduled for all age groups.  All Fairview members are encouraged to attend.

 

July 9—13  Gospel Praise Showcase / Scholarship Program at Fairview

      Gospel recording artists and clinicians will be at Fairview July 9—13 to participate in events sponsored by the Moses Howard Sr. Scholarship Foundation.  The scholarship program is sponsored annually by Howard-Harris Funeral Services.  Jo’Landa Harris is Coordinator for the events.  All events are open to the public.

July 9—11, 7:00pm—“Takin’ It Back” Music Workshop:   Professor Craig Hayes, Trenton, NJ, Guest Clinician

Friday, July 11, 7:00pm—Women Wisdom Worship:  Mistress of Service will be Edna Tatum of “The Voice,” The Baptist Church of the New Covenant, Los Angeles, California.  Lady Gwendolyn Howard of the Historic Greater Friendship Baptist Church, Cleveland, Ohio, will be speaking.

Saturday, July 12, 7:00pm—”Taking It Back” Concert:  Melvin Crispell, Charlotte, NC, Music Director

Sunday, July 13, 4:00pm—11th Annual Candlelight Memorial Service and Induction Ceremony:  Featuring Evelyn Turrentine Agee, Leanne Faine, Charisse Nelson McIntosh, Lavarnga Hubbard, and Tunesha Crispell.

 

July 18, Singles Fellowship Meeting

          The Singles Ministry will hold their monthly Fellowship on Friday, July 18, beginning at 7:00.  All Fairview singles are encouraged to attend.   

Time is drawing near for our 5th Annual Singles Conference. We need to complete our plans and get our committees engaged.  If you are not current on your installment payments please try to catch up.

Dominoes, cards and other games will be available after the meeting.  Hotdogs, chips and refreshments will be provided.

 

July 26, Youth Awareness Program

          The 4th Annual Youth Awareness Program, sponsored by the Oklahoma Baptist State Convention Prison Ministry, will be held Saturday evening, July 26, at Fairview.  The event will include music, praise and worship, testimonies with youth that have been incarcerated, speaking out on the consequences of the choices you make in life.  The program begins at 1:00 p.m.

          Guest speaker will be Rev. Bertrain Bailey, St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Dallas, Texas.  A youth community choir will sing for the program.  Youth are asked to wear T-shirts, representative of their church or organization.  Vendors will be present to provide family services information.

July 27, Christmas Campaign

          The Fairview Women’s Ministry will have their “Christmas in August” campaign on Sunday, July 27.  The members are asked to make a financial donation.  Money collected is used to purchase Christmas items for senior members.

 

August 2, State Youth Annual Meeting at Camp Burge

          Fairview youth will be participating in the State Youth Annual Meeting at Camp Burge on August 2.  Parents should contact Fairview youth leaders for additional information.  The meeting is for boys and girls. 

 

August 4, Monthly Staff Meeting

          We will resume our Monthly Staff Meetings on Monday evening, August 4.  The Pastor is asking that all Staff, Deacons, Trustees and Ministry heads be in attendance.  The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m.

 

August 4—7, EZD Association

          The East Zion District Association will meet at Fairview, beginning August 4 at 7:00 p.m. with a musical.  The Ministers and Wives Conference will meet on Tuesday evening On Wednesday night, the Men’s Ministry will meet.  Bro. Charles Hardrick, President of the EZD Men’s Ministry, will give his Annual Address and Fairview’s Singing Churchmen will sing.

          The Women will hold their session during the day on Thursday and the Rev. Jeff Mitchell, Moderator and Son of Fairview, will give his First Annual Message on Thursday night during the 7:00 p.m. service.  Friday night’s Annual Benefit Fellowship Banquet will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Meridian Convention Center, South Meridian off I-40.  Dr. George McCutchen will be the speaker.  Tickets are $25 and can be obtained from Sis. Linda Edwards or Bro. Walter Ellison.

September 26-27, 5th Annual Singles Conference

Holiday Inn - 6200 N. Robinson Avenue, OKC; Theme, “SAVED SINGLE & SATISFIED.”  Times:  Friday  6:30-10:30PM; Saturday   9:00 AM-3:30 PM

      This conference is designed to help singles understand some of the challenges and issues they face living by Christian principles.

“Friday night session will be filled with fun, food & fellowship with a 70’s theme.”

      Guest Speaker is Rev. Michael Eaton, Bethlehem Baptist Church, Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.  Conference Registration: $125.00

      Registration Includes:  Hotel Accommodations, Hors D’ Oeuvres, Full Breakfast & Lunch Buffet, T– Shirt, Lecture Material  & Door Prizes.
