This
church is part of the Christian Church which is an
assembly of believers that have accepted Jesus as their
personal savior and their intercessor to God. This
means that Jesus is the example of how we should live
our daily lives. Furthermore, we believe in the power
of the Holy Spirit as a helper to someone willing to
become a true servant of God. Jesus Christ is the
spiritual head of the Christian Church.More and more people "shop" for churches online
before paying a visit in person. They aren't generally
looking to be entertained or wooed. Some come and just
hold a seat. They allow the others around them to just
continue to carry the ball and not do any work. The
ministry is about work
We recognize the need for formal
membership. We believe formal membership in a local
church is important for four reasons. The first is a
Biblical reason—Christ is committed to the church.
Ephesians 5:25 states, “Christ loved the church, and
gave His life for her.” Membership in a local church is
an important step in demonstrating our commitment to
Christ.
The Fairview reason is a cultural reason. We live
in an age where very few want to be committed to
anything…a job, a marriage, or family. This attitude has
produced a generation of church hoppers and shoppers.
Membership swims against the current of America’s
consumer mentality and is an antidote to society.
Membership sets apart from the culture allowing us to
preserve our distinctive Christian beliefs and values.
The third reason why we emphasize formal
membership is a practical reason. Membership identifies
our community and family. It defines who can be
entrusted with positions of leadership within the
church. Lastly, we each have a personal reason why
membership is important. Membership produces spiritual
growth. The New Testament places a major emphasis on
the need for Christians to be accountable to each other
for spiritual growth. A person cannot be accountable
when they are not committed to any specific church
family.
As you visit our church, we pray that you will
consider all the benefits and privileges of membership
to a local community of believers. At the conclusion of
each worship service, the Pastor extends an invitation
to those seeking a personal relationship with Jesus
Christ and/or to those seeking membership in the
Fairview Family. Those who desire to respond are asked
to walk to the front of the church where the Pastor will
meet them and assist them in their decision. Our
prayer is that you will join us in our commitment to
sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.
If you are have never accepted the Lord Jesus
Christ, we invite you to do so now for we don’t know
when Jesus will return but we do know that He will
return. Since we don’t know the day or the hour (No one
knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in
heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” Matthew
24:36), we urge you to accept Him right now. Accept and
believe.
That if thou shalt confess
with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised
Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Romans 10:9
Recite this prayer: “I
do now confess that I am a sinner, and I now receive
Jesus as my Saviour. I pray, Lord Jesus, come into my
heart, forgive my sin, and save my soul. Thank you,
Jesus for saving me. Amen
If you prayed this prayer, and meant it with all
of your heart - then you have taken the first step. You
will begin to find inner peace and contentment and joy.
Pick up your Bible and begin to read it. The world will
continue to be filled with sadness and grief. However,
there is a sense of peace with your soul and you won't
worry about the details of what is wrong, only what is
right with God. You will thank God for your life, His
love and His mercy. You are on your way to a whole new
life!
Your next step is become a part of a
Bible-believing church. We invite you to make Fairview
your church home.
We accept those who wish to become members of
Fairview
Missionary Baptist Church.
By Profession of Faith
– You may sense a need to open your life and invite
Jesus Christ to be your Savior and Lord. During the
invitation come forward and the pastor or counselors
on duty will assist you in that decision. The next
step is to publicly profess your faith in Christ and
follow His example in believer’s baptism by
immersion.
By Transfer of Letter
– You may be a Baptist who is searching for a church
home. When the invitation is extended, you may come
forward and request membership. We can have your
membership transferred to our church upon your
request.
By Statement of Faith
– You may know Jesus as Savior and have already
experienced believer’s baptism by immersion in a
Baptist church, but you are no longer a member in
that church, or your church letter is no longer
available. We welcome you to come during the
invitation and request membership based on your
statement of faith.
You will then be
welcomed into our church and assigned to a counselor
that will serve as your spiritual mentor until such time
as you have become acclimated to the fellowship. Adults
that desire to become a part of this church fellowship
will attend a New Member Orientation class for an
eight-week period. Students of this class have the
opportunity to study topics such as Assurance of
Salvation, Imperative of Church Membership, How to Study
the Bible, Christian Doctrine, the Holy Spirit,
to name a few, and the polity and work of the Fairview
Baptist Church.
If you would like to be a part of our Church
Family or are still undecided or unsure about your
relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, please complete
the information below and submit and someone from our
church will be happy to contact you and assist you in
your decision.
"That if you
confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and
believe in your heart that God raised him from
the dead, you will be saved. For it is with
your heart that you believe and are justified,
and it is with your mouth that you confess and
are saved.” Romans
10:9-10
“Let us
not give up meeting together, as some are in the
habit of doing, but let us encourage one
another—and all the more as you see the Day
approaching.” Hebrews 10:25
