FBC Women's Conference 2016

The Women’s Ministry of Fairview Missionary Baptist Church will hold Women’s Conference 2016 on Saturday, October 1, at the church.  The theme is “Loving Your Neighbor in an Unloving World," Matthew 22:37-39; John 3:16.

Conference registration for Fairview women is $25 and guest registration is $15.  The registration donation includes the continental breakfast, lunch and conference materials.

Agenda:

 8:30 a.m. - Registration in Vestibule of Main Building
 8:30 a.m. - Continental Breakfast in Donald Burns Fellowship Hall. 
 9:00 a.m. - Conference Begins
12 noon -  *Fashion Luncheion
          
The Conference will include a panel discussion as well as a featured speaker.  The panel will address the question:  "As Christians, how do we love difficult people?"   Biblical solutions will be presented which includes:
  • Be slow to take offense.  (Proverbs 16:32; James 1:19)
  • Don't take yourself too seriously.  (I Corinthians 1:26, 29, 31; Galatians 6:14; Romans 12:3)
  • Be eager to reconcile in the spirit of Christian love.  (Ephesians 4:26-31).
  • Remember, they're God's precious creations.  (I John 4:11; 4:21; Genesis 1:26; John 3:16)
  • Because of sin, we are all unlovable.  (Romans 5:8)
The featured speaker for the Conference will be Sister Johnneese Shree Walter of Fairview. 

Johnneese is a graduate of Langston University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration.  She is a life-time member of Fairview Baptist Church.  She currently serves in various capacities at the church, including:  Minister of Music & Fine Arts, Group Leader for the Married Couples and Singles Sunday School Class and Church Administrative Secretary, a position she’s held for 25 years.  Other areas of service are Administrative Secretary Treasurer for the Oklahoma Baptist State Convention Woman's Auxiliary, Young Adult Women Advisor, and instructor with the Oklahoma Baptist State Congress of Christian Education, the East Zion Consolidated District Congress of Christian Education and Fairview’s Christian Leadership School. 

Sister Walter has traveled throughout the State of Oklahoma, along with having the opportunity to travel to Texas and New Jersey, speaking and conducting women & music seminars, proclaiming the reality of serving a true and living God.  Her desire is to be known as “A Child of the King.”

Johnneese Shree is the daughter of Rev. Dr. John A. and the late Dr. Patricia F. Reed.  She is married to Rev. Derrick E. Walter, Sr., and they have two children.

*Conference attendees are invited to wear or bring their hat for the Fashion Luncheon.  There will be good food, gifts, prizes, free jewelry and a hat contest.
 
Registration for the Conference will begin on September 4.  Online registration (with the option to pay online) is available through the registration link below.  Representatives from the Women's Ministry will be in the church vestibule until the Conference to assist with online and onsite registration.  Those needing to mail their registration may do so by downloading the printable registration form and mail as directed on the form.

The Conference is open to men and women of all ages.  The church nursery will be open.  Those needing childcare are asked to email info@fairviewokc.com prior to the Conference to reserve a slot.  (This is not required but requested)

Fairview is located on in the Northeast quadrant of Oklahoma City on Northeast 7th Street.  From I-35, Exit N. E. 10th Street.  From I-40, Exit Eastern Avenue.

The major intersection is N. E. 7th Street and N. Martin Luther King Blvd (formerly Eastern Avenue).  Those on Martin Luther King Blvd should turn West on N. E. 7th Street.  The church campus is located approximately two blocks West of M. L. King Blvd between Rev. J.A. Reed Jr. Street and N. Bath.
 
Parking Details:
HANDICAP PARKING: Handicap Parking is available on the South side of the main sanctuary. Passengers may be unloaded between the main sanctuary and the Donald Burns Fellowship Hall (Rev S S Fairly Drive). If no handicap parking spaces are available and you need assistance parking your vehicle, feel free to drive up in the load/unload zone and request assistance from the Hospitality Ministry. PUBLIC PARKING: Public Parking is located East and South of the main sanctuary and West of the Donald Burns Fellowship Hall. Street parking is discouraged, unless necessary due to unavailability of parking spaces in the parking lot. PLEASE DO NOT BLOCK DRIVEWAYS OF THE LOCAL RESIDENTS. RESTRICTED PARKING AREAS: The marked parking spaces North of the main sanctuary are designated Staff Parking. Please do not park in any designated areas unless authorized by security. PLEASE NOTE: Vehicles left unattended in the Fire/Emergency Vehicle or other No Parking zones may be towed.
