Fairview Communications Ministry Hold 3rd Conference

Fairview Baptist Church will hold a Communications Conference on Friday and Saturday, March 12 and 13.  The Conference is sponsored by the church's Communications and Public Relations Ministry.  The theme is in conjunction with the church theme, Campaign for Christ - In It to Win in 2010with a subtheme, "Communicating the Gospel to the Uttermost." 
 This year's event is a two-day format and is designed to provide participants with resources and pratical techniques and tools to initiate systems and optimize existing processes to positively present and represent Christ and to promote their church and church ministries.  Scheduled sessions include:  Utilizing Social Networking to Campaign for Christ - Do you Twitter?; Using Audio-Visuals to Communicate the Message; Photography - Getting the Best Results; Formalizing a Communications Ministry - Where Do We Start?; Effective Writing Skills; Websites, Web Pages, E-Newsletters - Assessing Need and Resources; Keeping it Fresh; Graphics, Layout and Design - Flyers, Posters & Brochures that Sell; Promoting Your Ministry - Maximizing Available Resources.
Friday night’s agenda focus is “Investing to Win – Are You Willing to Pay the Cost?”   The evening will begin at 6:00 p.m. with Registration and the Conference will officially open at 6:30 p.m. The Keynote Speaker is Rev. Dr. Lee Cooper, Jr., Pastor of Prospect Baptist Church in Oklahoma City .  Under his leadership, Prospect has expanded its ministry to two worship locations.   A panel of professionals will follow Dr. Cooper with an open forum to address questions from the audience, dealing with such issues as: “Why some churches’ memberships explode while others seem to wither?” “How much is too much when it comes to marketing your church?”  “Can social media replace face to face witnessing?” 
 Saturday’s focus will be “Effective Communication to Win the Campaign.”  The day will consist of breakout sessions and general sessions.  Lunch will be provided with Dr. J. A. Reed, Jr., Senior Pastor of Fairview , as Luncheon Speaker.   Dr. Reed is known across the nation as a profound preacher and teacher who speaks boldly on truths established through basic Biblical principles.  His presentation will center on “Are You Burning the Candle at Both Ends?”  
 The afternoon will begin with a general session on Interpersonal Communication with LaRee Reidenbaugh as facilitator.  This motivational session explores the attributes and behaviors that relate to becoming successful in all relationships – personal and professional.  Laree is a HR Programs Field Coordinator with the State of Oklahoma ’s Department of Human Services.  She coordinates the agency’s Employee Assistance Program and the Voluntary Chaplaincy services.  
The Conference is open to the public.  Individual registration cost is $15 for both days' sessions, which includes lunch, breaks and Conference materials.  Churches and organizations can take advantage of a discount group rate of $75 for up to eight (8) persons.  Preregistration is recommended as class sizes are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
