Rev. L. Mike Woodberry is District Moderator, Rev. Michael McDaniel is Congress President and Sis. Lavinnie L. Moore is Congress Dean.

The District Congress of Christian Education is the education arm of the EZCDA and is affiliated with the Oklahoma Baptist State Convention and the National Baptist Convention (NBC), USA, Inc.  It is responsible for teaching and training classes in every aspect of Christian Education.  The school is certified through the Sunday School Publishing Board of the NBC, USA, Inc.

The session kickoff will be a Pre-Registration Service on Sunday evening, July 14, 5:00 p.m., at the Northeast Missionary Baptist Church, 3816 N. Bartel Rd, Forest Park, where Rev. Michael McDaniel serves as Pastor.  Rev. Bertholomew “Prophet” Bailey, Director of the Baptist Student Union, Langston University, will be the preacher.  Registration will be open in the Fellowship Hall during the service to allow churches and delegates to complete their registration process and avoid normal frustrations associated with first day-registration.

The Congress will officially open on Monday evening at 6:00 p.m.  The Dean’s Annual Address will be on Tuesday, July 16, at 7:30 p.m. and the President’s Annual Message will be Thursday, July 18, 7:30 p.m.

Four mid-day courses are offered this year, Monday – Thursday from 11:30 to 1:00 p.m., as well as 17 evening classes, that will be held at 6:00 p.m. nightly.  Young adults, ages 18 – 35, are encouraged to enroll in the Young Adult Session.  In addition to the course of study, they will have the opportunity to participate in Young Adult Game Night on Tuesday evening.    The Children and Youth Department has an organized program led by dedicated, trained staff that provides Christian education to those aged 3 – 17.  Their week’s study is showcased at the close of the Congress on Friday night at the Children and Youth Rally.

Early registration is now open and can be completed online at www.fairviewokc.com, or one can download a print-and-mail form from the website.  Pre-registration is encouraged to assure entrance in the desired courses.  It will close July 11, after which time registration must be completed onsite.
Registration is $15 for adults, 18 and over, and $10 for children and youth, 17 and under.  Those desiring credit for two classes may enroll in a Mid-Day and Evening Class at the single $15 registration rate.

All churches of the East Zion District, as well as unaffiliated persons of the area, are encouraged to be a part of the worship and study periods.

Questions regarding the Congress or a specified course of study should be directed to the Congress Dean’s Office at 405-388-1419 or lmoore817@att.net
