Fairview Focus on Prayer

Seminar/Super Prayer Meeting Scheduled

January 4, 2011

Fairview Pastor John A. Reed, Jr. has designated the month of January as Prayer Focus month for his congregation.  The Prayer Ministry of Fairview, led by Prayer Coordinator Dr. Patricia F. Reed, will conduct two events in the month to educate, enlighten and encourage the members on prayer.
The first event is a Prayer Seminar that will be held on Saturday, January 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.  The Seminar will be utilizing the theme, “Our Church, Illuminating the Community through Prayer,” using scripture reference, Philippians 4:6.  The seminar will include study on prayer, a question and answer period, prayer requests and a prayer and commitment period.  The seminar is open to the public and there is no cost for participation.  The presenter for the seminar is Rev. John Peoples, Pastor of Faith Memorial Baptist Church in Oklahoma City.
The second prayer event will be the 5th Annual Super Prayer Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, January 12, at 7:00 p.m.  The evening will include praise and worship, emphasis on prayer, and a special period of prayer.   Returning as guests will be Rev. Earl Bryant and the Wildwood Baptist Church family.  Rev. Bryant will be the speaker for the evening.
"I believe that everything that we do should be seasoned with prayer so we’re going to begin the year with our entire membership involved in studying how to pray and the power of prayer, practicing the act of prayer, and learning to anticipate and patiently await the answer to prayer,” said Pastor Reed.  “All of our study and proclamation for the month of January will be on prayer and every member has been asked to select at least one prayer partner to pray with throughout the year,” Rev. Reed continued.
The community is invited to be a part of the Prayer Seminar, the Super Prayer Meeting and other worship and study periods during the month.
