Reed to be Recognized

Pastor Reed Selected for Black Heritage Award

Rev. Dr. J. A. Reed, Jr. will be recognized at the Annual Black Heritage Celebration sponsored by the Oklahoma Department of Human Services Office of Civil Rights.  The celebration will be held on Friday, February 26, at 11:00 a.m. at the Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 1040 N. E. 42nd Street in Oklahoma City.   The theme for the event is “We Are Not Done Yet.”
 
The event is free and open to the public.  A complimentary lunch will be served and many vendors will have a variety of items for display and sale.  
 
The emcee is Blaise Labbe, KWTV news director.  Entertainment will include gospel singing, the Marcus Garvey Leadership Charter School’s African Drummers, a poetry reading from Brian Creal of OKDHS and the Star Spencer High School Drum Line.
